Within Unionville-Chadds Ford, many students strive for excellence in school while giving back to the local community. Unionville High School senior, Anthony Kulp, was honored at a recent Longwood Rotary Club meeting where he was named Student of the Quarter. Anthony shared his involvement within the Unionville Chadds-Ford area and how it has made him the person he is today.
By drawing inspiration from key figures within the community, Anthony has encouraged aspiring participants to get involved in community service. “I admire the leaders in the community that create the events,” Anthony shares, “especially ones that involve the younger generation.” In helping the underprivileged, he has seen an increase in involvement among younger people, preserving the sense of community in the area. From his outreach as an Executive Board member of the National Honors Society to acting as a mentor for developing hockey players through Quakers Ice Hockey Club, Anthony was able to grow as a person and as a leader. “I think involvement in both the community and school activities makes me a better leader and more independent,” Anthony expresses while emphasizing the value of guiding others his age.
With his extensive volunteer background and love for sports, Anthony truly embodies the image of a student-athlete. From playing year-round hockey between various teams to being involved in a plethora of extracurricular activities, Anthony has been able to leave a positive impact on the Unionville-Chadds Ford area. Anthony has the honor of being a member of the Principal’s Advisory Council and volunteers for the Chester County Food Bank over the summers. His passion for all aspects of his life and love for his community is an encouragement for the younger generation of students to come.
When he’s not volunteering or playing hockey, Anthony spends much of his downtime at Pocopson Park. As one of his favorite places in town, he enjoys spending time with his peers there. All their differences seem to disappear when playing sports together.
As graduation draws closer, Anthony hopes to mirror his high school achievements and bring his leadership skills into his college experience. “I plan to continue participating in community service because it’s rewarding seeing people be able to succeed.” After college, Anthony hopes to pursue a career in investment banking with a focus on venture capital and private equity.
