In the heart of West Chester, a new studio dedicated to hairdressing has opened! On 706 E Market Street, West Chester, PA 19382, in Suite 9, The Love Salon Suite has proven to be a fantastic new addition to the town. With the fantastic styles, aesthetic, and welcoming atmosphere, and amazing owner, The Love has turned out to be quite the crowd pleaser to residents of West Chester, PA. The owner and resident stylist, Taijah Baharra, works flawlessly Monday through Friday. She has ample training, and from my own personal experience, is incredibly talented in her line of work. Here is a glimpse into her hairdressing experience, the origins of The Love Salon Suite, and how it is going in this new business.
Taijah’s hairdressing journey started even before she did a year of college, then she went to the Venus Academy in Aston, PA. She started doing hair in high school, simply working with her friends’ hair for proms, and other dances or events. This piqued her interest in hairdressing. She was at Nicholas Sebastian for three years, which was her first assisting job. She soon started a mentorship program and then went to another salon after the Covid-19 pandemic. She was at Salon West Endz for a little over three years and is now using her talents in The Love!
The Love fulfilled Taijah’s wishes because it is a small workspace, and she can be her own boss. She named her new studio The Love because sometimes “you just need a little bit of love.” She says that when people get their hair done, they are loving and taking care of themselves. Taijah likes this concept because she loves helping people and making them happy. Obviously, her decision is proving successful! Although she originally wanted to go to school to be a nurse, hairdressing and nursing are one of the most interchangeable pairs of occupations. The most important thing is that the business is successful, and she has loved her journey thus far.
Taijah thoroughly enjoys her work, and The Love has seen many customers so far, even in the typically slow season of the hairdressing business. Some challenges for Taijah have been learning time management and the new workload. Being her own boss, she must organize everything herself, which makes it a lot more work for her now, but she is up to the challenge, and the business is thriving!
If your hair is getting a little long or needs a fresh look, you can book an appointment through GlossGenius. I highly recommend Taijah to anyone who needs a new hairdresser or simply a new cut, and I sincerely hope you will take the time to visit her!
