Some people say that humans don’t deserve dogs; that they are mythical creatures from heaven. Dogs truly are very important animals that help humans so much. From saving lives to helping people with disabilities, to being a childhood best friend, dogs can do it all and ask for little in return. All they ask for is food, water, maybe some treats and toys here and there, and most importantly a loving home that they can live in for as long as they want. Owning a dog teaches kids responsibility, keeps people active and safe, and makes life that much more fun and love-filled. Whether you are adopting a dog or even fostering one, they bring lots of joy into people’s lives and some go on to do great things.

When you foster a dog, you give them a temporary home until they find a forever family. When you adopt a dog, you give them a forever home and take care of them until they are no longer with you. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or volunteering to help dogs, a great place to go to is the Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue in Avondale, PA. At Lucky Dawg, fostering and adoption could not be easier! As a foster family, Lucky Dawg will provide toys, treats, food, instructions on what your specific dog’s needs are, and volunteers will advocate for adoption as well as provide transportation from their partner shelters to your home. If you adopt a pup, you will pay a small fee and fill out a quick application asking questions about you and your family, your home, and what your plans are for your potential new family member. Not only does Lucky Dawg find great families for their pups, they have an amazing staff that helps them!

At Lucky Dawg, there is staff and many volunteers that help take care of the dogs, match up families with dogs, and set up events! Lucky Dawg hosts raffles, showing events, and even Yeti Bingo in March to fundraise for supplies for the dogs. They recently started driving around an RV that shows the cats that are up for adoption! Volunteers can help with events and fundraisers, and take volunteers as young as 13! In fact, Lucky Dawg is local to schools such as Upland Country Day, and even allows high school students to volunteer for community hours, seeing as they could always use volunteers! Volunteering and donating is a huge help to Lucky Dawg in order to give the dogs and cats a lovely stay while finding families!

Lucky Dawg is a fantastic rescue with great pups and people. The staff is friendly and helpful, housing the cutest dogs ever! With many dogs and cats needing homes due to the amount of stray animals on the streets, surrendered pets, animals about to be put down in the pound, and issues in the south with over breeding dogs, it is very important that these puppies find safe homes with wonderful families that give them the love and care that they deserve. If you are interested in volunteering, adopting, fostering, or donating, please go to the Lucky Dawg main website at www.luckydawganimalrescue.com for the proper guidelines and contact information. Be kind to animals, because they deserve just as much as you do! As said by Lucky Dawg, “Rescue the Mistreated. Save the Injured. Love the Abandoned. Educate the Public.”
